8 Drastic Short-Term Solutions To Solve WWE's Ratings Woes
7. Give Daniel Bryan The Green Light To Return
Daniel Bryan's main event run didn't do huge numbers when it came to PPV sales (something he even acknowledges in his must-buy autobiography), but much of that stems from how frustrated fans became with the way he was booked to be constantly screwed out of the title. However, Bryan's journey to the main event of WrestleMania became must-watch television in 2014, and reigniting that same level of support for him in a programme against another Bray Wyatt or Randy Orton type of character could lead to a renewed interest in WWE programming from many fans. Right now, it feels like the WWE Universe needs someone to get behind, especially as there's currently no one on Raw each week with the same fervent fan base Bryan had during his Yes Movement phase. Seth Rollins may be doing a great job as the company's top heel, but without a top face, viewers are left without a rival Superstar to root for. Are we seriously supposed to accept Kane in that role?! Bringing Bryan back would generate a lot of buzz and attract those who got behind him during last year's WrestleMania season back to the product, especially if he's immediately thrown into a compelling storyline which will convince them to stick around. The response to Bryan when he entered the Intercontinental Championship picture this year was tepid, but imagine him and Kevin Owens tearing it up in a storyline rivalling the one between Owens and Sami Zayn in NXT? That's the kind of thing people will tune in to watch, whether they're casual viewers or members of the IWC. Of course, Bryan's health is ultimately the priority and there's no way he should be rushed back into action if it's going to negatively impact his health in the long run. However, with Bryan claiming to have been given the all clear by an independent doctor, it sounds like the leader of the Yes Movement not being brought back has more to do with WWE Creative having a lack of ideas than a serious concern for his well being.
