8 Drastic Short-Term Solutions To Solve WWE's Ratings Woes

6. Crown A New WWE World Heavyweight Champion

While it seems fair to say that Seth Rollins has been a good WWE World Heavyweight Champion, he's been held back somewhat by his heel persona and a string of dirty finishes. That's just one of those WWE tropes which has become a staple of a heel champion of course, and that aside, Rollins has been thoroughly entertaining and delivered some classic matches whether they've been against Ambrose, Cena, Orton or anyone else. However, if the ratings are any indication, viewers simply aren't all that interested in tuning in to watch his title run. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan went through the exact same thing for some reason, and while Rollins is no doubt someone who will quite rightly hold the championship a number of times again in the future and be a staple of WWE's main event scene for a very long time, with things as they currently are, it wouldn't hurt for the company to freshen things up by having someone else hold the belt for a while. A safe - and somewhat horrifying - name which instantly springs to mind is John Cena, but he's going to be taking some time off, so that won't work. It's hard to imagine Kane helping ratings as champion (unless he's thrown into a feud with The Undertaker which leads to them clashing at Survivor Series to celebrate the latter's 25th Anniversary with the company) and the same applies to Sheamus, so it's honestly hard to pick a name off the current WWE roster who you can guarantee will attract more viewers. It could just be that crowning a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion (no matter who it is) will be enough, but if for some reason that's not the plan, then a face turn for Rollins probably wouldn't hurt...
