7. Jushin 'Thunder' Liger
Making his debut way back in 1984, it wasn't until a few years into his career that Keiichi Yamada took on the Jushin 'Thunder' Liger name and gimmick that would make him famous. The character was based on a popular anime series, but Liger really made the character his own. Despite appearances in WCW, TNA, Ring Of Honor and just about everywhere else, it wasn't until 2015 that Liger made his way to WWE. At NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn in August, Liger defeated Tyler Breeze in a well-received match. It was considered a coup for WWE to have a Japanese wrestling legend like Liger perform on the show. Even though he hasn't really been part of WWE for any great length of time, the inventer of the shooting star press deserves to have his incredibly successful career honoured. In 2015, Tatsumi Fujinami was inducted, so WWE are no stranger to honouring international stars. William Regal was hugely influential in securing Liger for WWE, having worked with him in the UK, WCW and NJPW, so he would be best placed to discuss his career at length. Liger does speak English, but he could benefit from having someone as well-spoken as Regal there to provide some context to his induction. The Junior Heavyweight sensation has never been a WWE regular, but he has influenced many of their stars over the past two decades and richly deserves the honour for everything he's done in the business.
