Its no secret that when Swagger first arrived in the WWE there were big plans for the former NCAA All-American amateur wrestler. This saw him win the ECW Championship, Money in the Bank and eventually the World Heavyweight Championship all within his first couple of years of appearing on the main roster. So it seems strange that only a few short years after all this, during which time he also had a run with the United States Championship, you could be forgiven for forgetting that Swagger even exists. With Swagger not really being involved in a significant feud since his rivalry with Rusev last year, he has apparently grown very disgruntled with his current status within the WWE, with mounting speculation that he be leaving the company soon. This speculation has also suggested that should Swagger go through with this plan, then he might follow in the footsteps of Brock Lesnar and Bobby Lashley and embark on an MMA career. Either way, it seems like the man who the WWE once had such high hopes for doesnt seem destined for a big role within the company any time soon. However time is still on the 33-year olds side and should he keep plugging away in WWE, or leave and find success elsewhere before returning, theres every chance that Swagger could yet become a top Superstar within the WWE again.
