8 Former Midcarders Who Could Returns As WWE Main Eventers In 2016

4. Brodus Clay

What do you mean the guy who was called the 'Funkasaurus' and used to come out to 'Somebody Call My Mama' could be a main eventer? Have you lost your mind, dear author? Well, quite possibly, but Brodus Clay has one thing that WWE (or at least Vince McMahon) likes in his top guys: size. Brodus is big and is actually a pretty decent worker, considering his girth. When he ditches the dancing and the showing out he can be taken seriously as a top guy - his feud with Neville in May 2014 proved that he could play the imposing monster well. Unfortunately for Brodus, he was released shortly after the programme ended. He resurfaced in TNA and aligned himself with Ethan Carter III, a good sign considering his place on the card. He was booked strongly and looked convincing against the likes of Eric Young and Rockstar Spud, and even co-main evented the Bound for Glory PPV (with Carter against Mr. Anderson and Lashley) but bookings have been sporadic in recent times due to TNA's uncertain situation. Could WWE throw him a rope and have him rejoin them? It may be unlikely, since Clay is 42 and recently attacked WWE by calling it the 'Triple H factory', but stranger things have happened and you could totally see Brodus as a short-term opponent for someone like John Cena (who just loves beating those monsters).
