Jason Jordan's had a difficult start to live on Monday Night Raw since being revealed as Kurt Angle's son in an angle that perhaps requires an expedited payoff now the realisation has sunk in that fans will never truly buy into it.

His booking improved in September, after a listless SummerSlam build was erased in favour of lengthy matches with John Cena and Roman Reigns to help build their profiles before the explosive headline encounter. On their level in the body of each clash and only beaten narrowly each time, Jordan was at last permitted to look and act like a future star again rather than the polished (and mildly obnoxious) smiling specialist he was positioned as in his early flagship squashes.

His luck will change on Sunday, with few (if any) current stars viable options to replace The Miz as Intercontinental Champion. A phenomenal talent and secondary titleholder for the modern age, the 'A-Lister' has the exact ability needed to be an efficient heel in 2017, and the longer he's allowed to maintain a grip on the beloved title, the more desired it will become.

Showing some frustration with his new circumstances for the first time on the go-home show, Jordan too looked his best in exasperation on Monday Night Raw. Defeat should hopefully draw more of that out, and ideally come with a side of tension between the parent and child.
