6. Nick Aldis vs Randy Orton

It's all too often overlooked by WWE that SmackDown GM Nick Aldis is a bad, bad man. He was Cody Rhodes's opponent at the historic first All In event, a former TNA and NWA heavyweight champion, and a world class in-ring technician. He shines in his role as SmackDown's on-air boss, but that doesn't mean there wasn't room for him to show WWE's contemporary audience what a bad ass he is.

At various points in the past 18 months, Randy Orton has let the voices in his head take over a lil too much and has planted Aldis with an RKO. After each time Aldis has taken Orton's finisher, he has grown more and more irate. This felt deliberate and as if it was going somewhere beyond Aldis grimacing, posturing, and issuing The Viper a fine.

It seemed as if we were building towards Aldis vs Orton at WrestleMania 41. This felt great because it had long-term booking on its side, the match itself would've been great, and Aldis would have earned Orton and the rest of the WWE roster's respect for standing up for himself in a likely losing situation. Instead, it was completely glossed over, and, instead, Orton issued an open challenge and squashed the then-TNA champion Joe Hendry.
