8 Key Victories In 2019 That WWE Never Followed Up On

For many months, Buddy Murphy was one of the biggest victims of the Wild Card Rule. He was moved from 205 Live to SmackDown Live in April's Superstar Shake-Up but never actually debuted, instead sitting on the sidelines until speaking up during a "town hall" with Shane McMahon on the July 16 episode of SmackDown.

He made a minor appearance during the attack of Roman Reigns in early August, which led to him becoming a crucial part of the angle for the remainder of the month. All of a sudden, he was a prominent player on the blue brand and faced Reigns in a breathtaking bout after SummerSlam.

WWE followed up on Murphy's standout performance properly by not only having him go one-on-one with Daniel Bryan (the man he accused of ambushing Reigns) but also beating him all on his own. Needless to say, it was the biggest win of his entire career and it was well received by the audience.

Many expected him to ride that wave of momentum into the King of the Ring tournament and go far, if not win the whole thing. Well, he was promptly eliminated by Ali in the first round for some strange reason and disappeared from programming once again.

Apparently The Best Kept Secret will remain a secret for a little while longer.
