Darby Allin sets a high bar for himself, and he'll walk away from wrestling if he can't clear it.

Reigning AEW Champ and all-round daredevil Darby Allin has told Busted Open Radio that he'd rather walk away from pro wrestling than compromise on his flashy/risky in-ring style. Somewhat remarkably, that 'all or nothing' attitude is something he's picked up from his mentor Sting.

The WCW icon has advised Darby that 'being at peace with himself after wrestling' is important. Looking back, the Stinger has no real regrets about his career, and he wouldn't want Allin to have any either. Darby has held onto that, and it's why he's going so hell for leather every week on Dynamite and Collision whilst AEW World Champion.

Rather definitively, Allin added: "If this all ended tomorrow, I’m ready; but until then, I’m going to ride it until the wheels fall off. I don’t want to be that guy who’s not doing the version of Darby that you currently see".

Since becoming champ by beating MJF on the 15 April edition of Dynamite (a special Spring BreakThru episode), Allin has defended his title in high drama bouts vs. Tommaso Ciampa, Brody King, Kevin Knight, PAC, Konosuke Takeshita, Sammy Guevara and Mike Bailey.

Now, he turns his attention to a 'Title vs. Hair' clash for the belt vs. Friedman at this weekend's Double Or Nothing 2026 pay-per-view. If Darby wins, then MJF will end up bald. Regardless of outcome, it's a shoe in to be longer than the 2 minute clash they had back in mid-April.

Allin lives his life for today, and closed by saying: "I love to live in that state. It just keeps you so on edge".
