8 Key Victories In 2019 That WWE Never Followed Up On

5. Andrade Beats Rey Mysterio (SmackDown Live, Jan. 15)

Before falling short of beating Apollo Crews in July, Andrade was on the biggest roll of his main roster run to date when he feuded with Rey Mysterio at the onset of 2019. They previously met one-on-one for the first time ever two months earlier on an episode of SmackDown Live, a match that was won by Mysterio.

This time around, two weeks ahead of the Royal Rumble pay-per-view, Andrade was able to get the better of Mysterio and defeat him in clean fashion following an excellent outing. Andrade had previously looked strong in defeat against the likes of AJ Styles, Daniel Bryan and Jeff Hardy, but he finally won when it mattered most.

Their 2-out-of-3 Falls match-up the very next week was equally entertaining and ended in a non-finish to keep the rivalry alive. They continued to clash on the road to WrestleMania, but surprisingly enough, their feud was never given a proper blow-off. The Master of the 619 instead competed for the United States Championship while Andrade took part in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal on the Kickoff show.

What's worse is that Andrade went on to beat Mysterio another two times recently on Raw, but those victories didn't amount to anything, either. It appears El Idolo is destined to flounder until the end of time, or at least until he takes his talents elsewhere.
