So much of the pre-Clash of Champions discussion (including two entries in this very list) have been focused on how KO and Sami will win that virtually no-one is entertaining the possibility that they might actually lose.

That's pretty understandable, since - as we've already touched on - Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn aren't actually leaving WWE, and even if they were they'd probably go out with a whimper rather than as part of one of the biggest angles of the year.

But remember: this is WWE we're talking about. Firings and banishings never seem to last very long - and if they are intent on dragging this storyline all the way to 'Mania, a few weeks of relative inactivity might actually be sensible.

They could find a loophole to come back in January, perhaps after Shane McMahon is somehow dislodged from his position as SmackDown commissioner. There's a whole world of nonsensical possibilities that may await us - so don't count your chickens just yet.
