8 Least Over WWE Wrestlers To Headline WrestleMania

WrestleMania XI's headline match - which saw Bam Bam Bigelow take on former NFL star Lawrence Taylor - stands out like a sore thumb from the list of main events at the Show of Shows, but it was actually a pretty big deal at the time.

At the very least, you have to acknowledge that the negative feeling coming from the fans paled in comparison to the sort of backlash that would ensue today if a non-wrestler got the headline spot at the expense of the modern equivalent of Shawn Michaels.

That said, Taylor is a must for this list - partly because he wasn't nearly as over as many of the wrestlers lower down the card: the aforementioned HBK, for example, not to mention Bret Hart and The Undertaker.

But also because, outside of the United States, few would have actually been familiar with the guy as a purportedly mainstream press-attracting famous face. Since WWE is - and always has been - a global product, we can't ignore this very salient fact.
