8 Legitimate Reasons Dean Ambrose Has To Be Unhappy With WWE

2. Butchering The Rollins Programme

Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (2018) should have been the money programme.

Built on a controversial heel turn, and with years of history to play on, it was a storyline WWE could (and should) have ridden all the way to WrestleMania 35. Instead, the creative team buried it with the tasteless decision to base the whole thing on Roman Reigns' leukaemia.

WWE's writers are nowhere near subtle enough to handle such serious matters tactfully. This feud is proof of it. Ambrose started wearing a gas mask and got himself inoculated, having previously claimed Reigns' illness was him "answering to the man upstairs" for his kayfabe actions. The "omg, what is Renee Young hiding?" commentary bullsh*t worsened matters, and then came TLC 2018: a match so heatless and pedestrian that it may as well have taken place on a house show, not a major pay-per-view. Slower than a snail stuck in treacle, it was 2018's most disappointing bout by a landslide.

Few were satisfied with how things panned out, and it's hard to imagine that the performers were thrilled themselves. Let's hope we see no more of it before Dean says "goodbye."
