8 Legitimate Reasons Dean Ambrose Has To Be Unhappy With WWE
1. Wasting His Heel Turn
Dean Ambrose's heel turn divided the audience. It came the same night as Roman Reigns' leukaemia announcement, and while the argument that WWE shouldn't exploit real-life tragedies for heat is a valid one, and the company did grossly misuse Reigns' illness as a narrative tool throughout the Seth Rollins feud, the turn got over. Ambrose became WWE's biggest villain in a single night. It accomplished everything the writers wanted it to.
More than anything else, the turn gave Ambrose the opportunity of a fresh start. This was WWE's chance to undo the prop comic skits, the WrestleCrap-worthy Bray Wyatt programme, the disappointing WWE Title reign, and everything else that left Dean's credibility shredded. Perhaps the Pillman expy would return, and Ambrose would work with genuine danger again. Maybe WWE, for once in this yo-yoing modern era, would capitalise on a hot moment, sending Ambrose stratospheric with his exciting new direction.
They didn't.
Instead, Babyface Prop Comic Dean Ambrose became Heel Prop Comic Dean Ambrose. He added basic, outdated "Bad Guy" tropes like telling the fans they smell, but his new, villainous persona was no more than a different shade of the same sh*t.
Given what could've been, it's no wonder the guy wants to leave.
