3. The Street Profits Vs. Seth Rollins & Murphy - RAW Tag Team Championship Match

A popular result that built towards a deserved, feature singles showcase match for a man, Kevin Owens, who has been pummelled by the WWE system, this match was still very much just a match. Just a long, long match that played out to earned silence. It was two slightly above average RAW matches quite tediously spliced together.

The Street Profits' opening shine dulled, it went on that long, and much like the preceding match, it went long for the sake of it. The story didn't require the duration; this never resonated as the absolute fight of their lives, which is the purpose of a long title match. If anything, it exposed the limitations of the champions, who right now lack the ability to create a compelling and interesting near-20 minute affair.

It also compromised their real bond with the audience; because the hot tag took an eternity to build towards, fans lost interest, rendering the trope badly ironic. They didn't react at all to Angelo Dawkins' spree of offence because this intensified repetition - as main roster as the main roster gets - amounted to a long and arduous effort that did almost less than nothing for the defending babyface champions.

As with too much on the night, for the effort if not the craft, this earned the most Orange Cassidy of a thumbs up.

Star Rating: ★★¾
