7. Fatal 4-Way Match For The SmackDown Tag Team Championship

The sort of match Wikipedia will one day remind you happened, it was there, but temporarily pulsating when it was.

It was no surprise at all that this morphed from pretty good to bloody good by the finish as a result of Gran Metalik's involvement, and started off awesome as a result of Gran Metalik's involvement. A rare harmonic symphony orchestrated between talent and production obscured the contrivance of the Metalik and John Morrison's Spanish Fly bump field in a superb early high spot. And later, at the finish, Metalik went ballistic on a lucha-tinged spree, adding his trademark tight application and deadly snap to a hurricanrana.

The middle phase of the match wasn't half as exhilarating - the Forgotten Sons reported for gentleman's three duty in the heat spot - but the New Day are dab hands at this multi-man tag team malarkey, having been tasked with it for years and years in a tag team division, outside of that great 2017 Usos feud, devoid of meaningful stories. They have this constant movement formula engineered to near-perfect precision.

This got really good, most matches should be rapid blurs to obscure there being no audience, but there's no audience because this many people shouldn't be gathered together in one place.

Cool.

Star Rating: ★★★½
