8 Mind-Blowing Early Versions Of Famous Wrestling Tag Teams

7. The New Day

The New Day are perhaps the most flamboyant, immature, outrageous group to come along since DX was formed all the way back in 1997. They wear blindingly colorful outfits, shout incessantly whenever they're even near a microphone, and generally act like a bunch of overgrown toddlers with ADD and a fondness for trombones.

But back when they first debuted, Xavier Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E were far from the smarmy and vibrant bunch they've become. They didn't wear unicorn horns on their heads and scream jubilantly about Booty-Os. They wore drab dress clothes and spoke intently about their displeasure in the WWE's hierarchy.

The formation of New Day happened because these three were tired of "playing the game" the way they were supposed to, and still not getting ahead. There was a little bit of a black power, Nation of Domination sentiment behind it all, which is to say there wasn't anything laughable about it.

See those three guys in that photo? Those are three angry, no-nonsense dudes who look like they just finished a business brunch. The New Day we know (and sometimes love) nowadays is a far cry from that moment in time.
