8 Mind-Blowing Early Versions Of Famous Wrestling Tag Teams

3. Too Cool

Too Cool is a strange example of how the most ridiculous concepts sometimes catch fire in the WWE. Somehow, some way, Scotty 2 Hotty and Grandmaster Sexay wormed their way into the hearts of fans during the Attitude Era, despite a gimmick that purposefully made them look like the whackest version of hip hop fans.

In fact, it's the specificity of their gimmick that helped them connect with the audience, regardless of how dorky they looked in their baggy FUBU-inspired duds.

Before they started wearing goggles on their head and performing coordinated dances in the ring with Rikishi, though, they were known as Too Much, an insufferable heel duo that made it their mission to annoy everyone in the arena before and during their matches. And they were great at it.

The gimmick didn't really catch on, mostly because it was squeezed into that generic, we're-full-of-ourselves-for-no-particular-reason category and didn't have much of a hook beyond that self-infatuation. And also, look at those friggin' outfits. Just awful.
