8 Minor Changes That Would Make A Major Difference To WWE Survivor Series 2017

3. Rusev In For Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon shouldn’t be anywhere near a WWE ring at the moment. I say that with regards to a wrestling standpoint of course, as Shane-O Mac is fine as an authority figure. The SmackDown Live commissioner is a liability in the ring however, not to mention a serious health concern.

I understand the idea of wanting your authority figures to captain the two teams, but including Shane McMahon in the match is hugely detrimental to both the quality of the bout and the perception of SmackDown. Where is Rusev? Complaining about how the Bulgarian Brute is used is akin to screaming into space at this point, but that doesn’t make it any less frustrating. The man from Plovdiv absolutely should be in this match.

The continued use of Shane McMahon in an active capacity is a further kick in the teeth for fans of SmackDown General Manager, Daniel Bryan. If Shane and Kurt Angle can both get clearance for competition, what shape must Bryan be in? Either things are far worse than they seem, or WWE really is hell-bent on keeping the leader of the YES! Movement out of the ring.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
