8 More Former WWE Stars Who Need To Return To NXT

7. ECIII

Well, this one might have been blown due to his recent 'shoot' promo at an Evolve show, where he took aim at former NXT trainer Bill Demott and Triple H but, on the other hand, maybe that was a setup for ECIII being the next (former?) TNA guy to find his way in NXT, after Samoa Joe, Eric Young and Bobby Roode.

Perhaps this is all part of a storyline and Carter was simply furthering it. WWE do have a working relationship with Evolve, after all, one that I very much doubt Gabe Sapolsky would want to jeopardize for the sake of a cheap pop and a little bit of Internet buzz.

ECIII was a part of the NXT system before but, unfortunately, that was before it was taken over by The Game. It was still in its gameshow phase then and Carter (wrestling then as Derrick Bateman) wasn't able to stand out. Since being let go and moving over to TNA, he's really found his feet as a performer.

He has a great look, is good in the ring and can cut one hell of a promo. There's no reason why the 33-year-old shouldn't be brought in once TNA reaches its inevitable demise, although his past negative comments might be a stumbling block.
