Daniel Bryan Neck Injury

Daniel Bryan was pound-for-pound both the best wrestler in WWE and its most popular for an impressive period that saw him reach the top of the company with his WrestleMania 30 victory. Sadly, a serious neck injury put him on the shelf for the remainder of the 2014 calendar year, which seriously damaged his momentum. There was hope that 2015 would be a much better year for him, especially after he won the WWE Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 31.

But life is cruel, and Bryan got injured again. This time, it was believed to be a severe concussion; ‘believed’, because WWE hasn’t disclosed the specific nature of his injury, with the ‘severe concussion’ theory being one of the most widely-believed rumors surrounding his current ststus.

Bryan’s new injury is problematic because Bryan was an insanely popular wrestler who could make anyone look better by wrestling against him. Even if he wasn’t meant to have another World Title again, Bryan could’ve helped build many more future stars.

Imagine how much fans would’ve loved to see Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins, or Daniel Bryan vs. Neville, or Daniel Bryan vs. Finn Balor, or even Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns. The possibilities could’ve been endless, and WWE would’ve had a license to print money with Bryan’s skill and popularity as their vehicle.

Bryan might never wrestle again; here’s hoping that he has one more match in him before he retires.
