8 Most Unthinkable WWE Changes Since Roman Reigns Became Champion

7. The Conclusion Of NXT UK

When NXT UK was first introduced in October 2018, it was seen as a platform to showcase British wrestling on a worldwide stage. However, the brand quickly grew into a global scouting network featuring talent from not only across Europe but around the eastern world including Australia.

It also housed some of the best in-ring wrestling that the WWE umbrella was offering at the time predominantly thanks to names such as WALTER, Ilja Dragunov, Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate. Unfortunately, the 2020 pandemic killed any momentum the show had and it began treading water right up until its inevitable demise in late 2022.

Thankfully, a lot of the talent survived the shutdown and made the smooth transition to the more senior NXT brand. However, the conclusion of the programming did lead to plenty of gifted wrestlers leaving the company.

Whatever your opinion on NXT UK's impact on the British wrestling scene is, the brand did hire and carefully sculpt characters for NXT TV before eventually being showcased on the main roster and hence served its purpose.

There are glimmers of hope for the brand with the reports detailing WWE's plan to go international with the NXT name gathering pace over the past few months.

Hopefully, we get to see the return of NXT UK in the not-too-distant future.
