8 New Directions After WWE Fastlane 2018

4. Charlotte Flair Vs. Asuka

We now know that Asuka will trade red for blue and challenge Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women's Title at WrestleMania.

This is one of the biggest women's matches WWE have presented in years. It's certainly the most important Charlotte has worked since switching to Tuesday nights, and it's the best-case scenario for all concerned. Asuka is red-hot after winning the Royal Rumble, so pitching her against the best female all-rounder in the company is a safe bet for WWE.

Expect Asuka to make regular appearances on SmackDown before 'Mania (brand extension, what brand extension?) and clear the way for Nia Jax to challenge Alexa Bliss on the Raw side of things. Then, hopefully, WWE will come through for her in New Orleans and Asuka will get her first main roster title.

Or maybe Carmella will cash in on her own MITB privileges. Who knows? Oh God, we've given them ideas.
