Four years after first arriving on the main roster, Bray Wyatt has finally won the big one. He became WWE Champion for the very first time by triumphing in last night's Elimination Chamber, and now stands tall as SmackDown's undisputed kingpin.

It was a titanic effort from Wyatt, who stunningly pinned reigning champion John Cena and AJ Styles in what is being called by some the greatest Chamber match of all-time. It was a moment his fans have been pining for for a long time, and after years of mis-booking, one many thought might never come.

Bray will meet Randy Orton, the 2017 Royal Rumble winner, at WrestleMania 33, and there's tension in the air. Wyatt and Orton shared a staredown as Elimination Chamber went off the air, and while they still call each other "brother", Orton has never been more ready to betray his tenuous ally.

The excommunicated Luke Harper is still lurking in the shadows too, and Erick Rowan's return is imminent. The timing of Wyatt's title win couldn't be better, and if WWE play their cards right, there are plenty of great story threads to keep Bray tied-up for the next few months.

Here are 8 new directions for new WWE Champion Bray Wyatt.

8. The Oncoming Treachery

Bray Wyatt’s first step following the Elimination Chamber has looked clear for months, and it became all but certain last night. Randy Orton has been plotting the Wyatt Family’s demise since the day he joined them, and with him winning the Royal Rumble and Bray standing as WWE Champion, the pieces are finally in place.

Whether it happens this week, next week, or even a month from now, Orton is primed and ready to sink a knife into Wyatt’s back. He has been planning his strike for months, and the championship’s added stakes should accelerate the process. Having successfully removed Luke Harper from the picture, there is now nothing standing between Orton and his ultimate goal, and sooner or later, Bray is going to be all alone.

Tension was rife as Bray celebrated with his new championship last night. Orton emerged on the stage to stare his “ally” down, and it remains to be seen how Wyatt will react to this change in circumstances. He has been entirely trusting of Orton thus far, but will last night’s outcome prompt Bray to start keeping The Viper at arm’s length? Probably not. Bray’s blind trust is going to cost him dearly, and he’ll soon be wishing he’d listened to Luke Harper in the first place.
