8 New Directions For New WWE Champion Bray Wyatt

4. Settle The Family Feud

Luke Harper’s next steps are unclear at the moment. Orton pinned him at Elimination Chamber, and after being jettisoned from the Wyatt Family, he doesn’t have anywhere to go. He’ll likely play a peripheral role in the ongoing Wyatt/Orton saga, but he’s well overdue a strong singles run, particularly given SmackDown’s current lack of depth near the top of the card.

Assuming Wyatt overcomes Orton at WrestleMania, Harper would make an excellent next challenger. WWE have only scratched the surface with what they can do with these two in the wake of their split, and there’s plenty of unfinished business to cover. Orton’s treachery should serve as an “I told you so” moment for Harper, who remains one of the best big men in the business, and has a groundswell of crowd support after working as a babyface in recent weeks.

Him and Wyatt should have excellent chemistry together, and their history should make their match a “must see” affair. Sure, there are potential matches with bigger name opponents available for Wyatt post-WrestleMania, but why not focus on telling a good story first? Harper vs. Wyatt would be a great shout to headline any of WWE’s smaller post-WrestleMania pay-per-views, and while Wyatt should ultimately go over, a strong performance could be the making of Harper as a singles act.
