8 New Directions For New WWE Champion Bray Wyatt

3. Expand The Family

Bray Wyatt has always been at his best when using his powers of manipulation to indoctrinate others into his service. You can’t be a cult leader without cultists, after all, and Wyatt has always looked far weaker on his own. He excels at brainwashing other wrestlers and forcing them to do his bidding, and it’s about time he started doing this again.

Erick Rowan’s return should be the first step, but a two-man Wyatt Family still feels threadbare. The group were at their absolute best as a trio, and WWE should have Bray coax another grappler into servitude if they’re to completely restore his credibility as a character.

Unfortunately, options are a little thin at the moment. Bray’s real-life brother, Bo Dallas, looks like an obvious choice, but he has been little more than a jobber throughout his main roster run. Can he be built-up? Probably, but it’s too soon for such talk.

If Wyatt is to bring in one of SmackDown’s other lost sheep, the standout option is probably Jack Swagger, who fits the blueprint in terms of size and style, but struggles with his character work. An NXT call-up like Killian Dain may also fit the bill, but whoever WWE choose, giving the Wyatt Family some much-needed manpower is the first step to making them feel threatening again.
