8 New Records Set At WWE Royal Rumble 2022
6. Most Popular Winning Number – Women
The five-year-old women’s Royal Rumble had given us four different
winners from four different spots before Saturday, but we knew that was bound
to change at some point in the near future.
That near future came this weekend when Ronda Rousey drew #28 and won, making her the second woman to enter at that spot and win, with (surprise!) Becky Lynch pulling the same trick at the 2019 Rumble.
Rousey’s entry was a late surprise, with her appearance rumored but not confirmed in the lead-up to the “premium live event.” The result was a 10-minute sprint to the finish that saw Rowdy Ronda toss four women en route to victory.
Surely we’ll see this record tied, eclipsed or expanded upon in the years to come, as (as we’ve noted before) late entries tend to fare better on average in the Rumble.
