8 New Roles That Would Revive Stale WWE Talent

3. Daniel Bryan - Colour Commentator

While the obvious role that Daniel Bryan was born to do is currently and frustratingly off the table, anyone that experienced his coverage on the Cruiserweight Classic will know that Bryan is wasted reciting lines and making bogus decisions as General Manager of SmackDown.

It's not that Bryan isn't good at being GM, it's just that he would be far better on commentary. His work alongside Mauro Ranallo was stellar on the CWC last year, while he's even shown on Talking Smack that he is far more natural in a setting where he is allowed to just speak rather than memorising lines. His knowledge and experience of the art would add hugely to the matches themselves.

What's more, Bryan is a person who genuinely loves wrestling and that comes through in his voice when he's watching it. Much like JR would exude excitement during his time as play-by-play man on Raw, Bryan did much the same during the CWC. It's a rare quality that simply isn't there when listening to Michael Cole or Tom Phillips and the addition of Bryan as colour man next to either one - or even a reunion with Ranallo himself - would increase the quality of the soundtrack tenfold.
