8 Next Generation WWE Superstars And The Roles They'll Play

3. Adrian Neville

Adrian Neville is another guy with an impressive pedigree prior to entering the world of WWE. Formerly known as PAC, Neville competed around the world before signing his deal. He competed in his home of the U.K., as well as for a handful of American promotions, as well as stints in Japan for both Dragon Gate and New Japan. Upon his initial debut in NXT, Neville was paired with his countryman, Oliver Grey. Less than a month after his debut, Neville, along with Grey, captured the NXT Tag Team Championships. After floundering for a bit in the midcard, Neville once again found his footing after becoming the number one contender to Bo Dallas€™ NXT Championship. At NXT Arrival -- the developmental territory€™s first live WWE Network special -- Neville was able to defeat Bo Dallas in a ladder match. Since that time, he has been able to retain his tightly-clenched NXT Championship. During the recent showcase of NXT talent on Monday Night Raw -- in the leadup to Takeover II: Fatal 4-Way -- Neville stole the show with his Red Arrow finishing maneuver. Later that week, Adrian continued his hot streak by retaining the NXT title in the titular Fatal 4-Way match. The win was not without controversy, however, as Sami Zayn seemingly had the contest won before Neville pulled the referee out. This new attitude for Neville has been quite refreshing. Like Zayn -- more on that in a minute -- the NXT Championship had been teetering into bland babyface territory. Luckily, Neville is being given more of an opportunity to showcase his brash, yet justifiable, attitude. Not only will Neville bring the WWE Universe to its feet with his athleticism, he may also becoming an interesting character on his journey to the big time.
