8 One-Time WWE Champions Who Deserved A Second Reign
2. Ultimate Warrior
The late Ultimate Warrior is another WWE Hall of Famer who surprisingly only held the company's main title the one time. IC Champion Warrior pinned Hulk Hogan in the main event of WrestleMania VI, becoming the first wrestler to hold the IC and WWE Title concurrently. Vince McMahon had hoped that the oddly charismatic, larger-than-life Warrior could take over from Hogan and become the man in WWE. It wasn't to be. Warrior was a disappointment as champ, under-performing at the box-office and not catching on like top officials had thought he would. Warrior dropped the title to Sgt. Slaughter at the 1991 Royal Rumble and segued into a programme with Randy Savage. Returning to the company after a hiatus (well, firing) at WrestleMania XII in 1992, Warrior gave interviews to the media where he said it was only a matter of time before he was made Champion again. That was the plan, but it never happened: Warrior was suspended after it was revealed that he had been experimenting with Human Growth Hormone, which was in contravention with the WWE's drug policy at the time.
