3. The Bruiserweight Wins The Battle Of The Bad Guys

As one side of the bracket presents the battle of the good guys, the other will see two of the tournament’s biggest heels face-off. If anyone can rival Pete Dunne’s veracity within this group of wrestlers, it’s Joseph Conners, and in stark contrast to our other predicted semi-final, this match is going to be brutal, nasty, and full of bile and venom.

Expect violence, and lots of it. Neither of these men like to hold anything back in the ring, and given Conners’ penchant for taking things too far and Dunne’s tendency to bite his opponents, the referee’s going to have his work cut out. Dunne and Conners are probably going to try to kill each other, and if they weren’t two of the toughest men in the tournament, there’s a strong chance that at least one would be leaving on a stretcher.

Their respective paths to the semi-final could prove the difference, however. Dunne is facing Sam Gradwell, who might be injured after last night’s assault, while Conners faces a gruelling match against Mark Andrews. There’s little separating these men on paper, and prior exertion could tip the scales in Dunne’s favourite. Besides that, he’s the heavy favourite for a reason, and someone WWE likely have big plans for in the future.
