8 Predictions For WWE's UK Tournament Finals Night 2

2. A Major Announcement

Just like Triple H announced the WWE Cruiserweight Championship’s return during last year’s CWC finals, we can probably expect some major news tonight. The UK Championship has already been unveiled, of course, but questions remain on the UK brand’s long-term future, and it’s only right that WWE answer them while all eyes are on the product.

During the initial press conference, Triple H announced that WWE would look to establish a weekly UK-based Network show if the tournament was deemed a success. It’s hard to quantify what is and isn’t a “success” over two nights, but the first show was lots of fun, and the crowd were incredibly responsive. The matches weren’t anything to write home about, but nobody expected them to be, and the first round presented few lowlights.

It’s likely that WWE had the weekly show in the works all along, however. They wouldn’t have introduced the title and signed these guys to retainer contracts for the sake of a two-night tournament, so there’s clearly something bigger in the works: it’s just a matter of time.

Look for Triple H and William Regal to hit the stage just before the main event, then make their big announcement. WWE are keen to take advantage of the current boom in British wrestling, and with their increased product diversification in 2016, a Network show makes all the sense in the world.
