8 Reasons Finn Balor Will Be WWE's Best NXT Call-Up
3. His Showmanship
Finn Balor is blessed with an ability to connect with a crowd that extends far beyond grabbing a microphone and cutting a promo. It’s in the way he carries himself, his selling ability, and his spirited late-match comebacks that pull the crowd in his favour and help him turn seemingly certain defeat into stunning victories.
Balor understands what it takes to draw fans into his story, and much of that comes from his showmanship. Like so many great superstars before him, Balor knows that pure spectacle is a big part of professional wrestling’s appeal, and he plays to that on every conceivable level.
Look at this move-set. Manoeuvres like the Sling Blade, Coupe de Grace, and Pele Kick are flashy, exciting techniques that draw viewers in and get live crowds out of their seats. He can’t flip around the ring like Kalisto or Neville, but Balor packs an athletic, crowd-pleasing array of offense when working as a babyface.
Then there’s The Demon. Balor has been applying body-paint for years and has been known to appear as a slew of comic book characters for various promotions over the years, but when he turns to his dark side and summons The Demon, you know it's game time. Balor’s trademark body-paint adds a whole new layer of pageantry to his act, and most importantly, it’s tailor-made for a huge, dramatic WrestleMania entrance.
