8 Reasons Friday's WWE Releases Were Justified

3. Zeb Colter

Outside of a completely forgettable run with Alberto Del Rio last autumn, Zeb Colter had done a whole lot of nothing on World Wrestling Entertainment television over the last year.

Once Jack Swagger shot his own push in the foot by driving under the influence in the build up to WrestleMania 29, it could be said that Colter's only function on TV was to get people to care about the All American American.

So once Swagger had been relegated to enhancement status and Cesaro rightfully turned to the good side, there was little need for Zeb Colter on TV. He certainly could contribute value from a booking perspective, as an experienced head backstage to give opinion on ideas, but is such a role reason alone to keep an individual on?

WWE is full to the brim of experienced heads backstage, individuals who have seen it all and done it all. Colter was obviously just one name too many.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
