8 Reasons Shane McMahon Vs. The Undertaker Just Didn't Work

7. For That Matter, Why Is Nobody Helping Shane?

I get that The Undertaker is on the Mt. Rushmore of most intimidating WWE performers ever with Brock Lesnar, Andre the Giant, and whoever you'd want to put in the fourth spot (it's highly negotiable). I understand that anyone running in, in storyline terms, is doing so at their own risk. I also get that most wrestlers, out of respect, would not necessarily want to be responsible for ending The Undertaker's career as a result of Vince's spiteful decree.

But still, a chance to rid WWE of The Authority should, ostensibly, trump everything. If Shane is the 'agent of change', wouldn't this be the time for John Cena or The Rock to hit the ring and say, "Sorry, Taker, but it's just business," and beat him into dust? Also, Shane's rich: why doesn't he pay off Lesnar to break Taker in half once and for all? He barely broke a sweat with Ambrose, so it wasn't like he was tired. Just glaring holes in character motivation.
