Shane did get to run Raw for 'reasons' the night after, with Triple H and Stephanie absent, but his rabble-rousing speeches really didn't mean anything. All of that talk about how his family is killing the business he loves for reasons of greed and pettiness (paralleling elements of reality) was to have been paid off with a Shane win. The most excited ones were the fans that could justify Shane rehiring Undertaker to spite Vince.

On a night where so many crowd favorites went down in defeat (Sasha, Ambrose, Styles, Owens, Zayn, New Day), Shane was latest in a hefty string of them, and the crowd showed obvious signs of demoralization afterward. Some theorize that WrestleMania 32 was booked to spite outspoken fans, and given the booking choices, it's hard to argue against.
