8 Reasons Why Billy Corgan Buying TNA Is Best For Business
4. Dozens Of Jobs Will Be Saved
TNA’s eventual demise will likely be met with some celebration. Wrestling fans can be a savage bunch, and after all the company’s been through over its lifespan, certain sects will take great pleasure in its closure, such is the level of disdain for Dixie Carter and her role in making TNA the laughing stock it has become.
Sure, TNA ceasing to exist would effectively remove her from the business, and you can argue that it’s no more than her mismanagement deserves, but what of the others? What about the talent who rely on their TNA paycheques to make a living, and may find it difficult to score a full-time wrestling gig elsewhere? What about the commentators, interviews, and referees? The agents, producers, and office staff?
Dozens of people are going to lose their job if the company goes bust, and that’s never a good thing, regardless of what you think of the figurehead. Though Corgan would likely make a few cuts and bring-in some of his own people in the event of a takeover, this is a lot less damaging than WWE shutting the whole operation down, or bankruptcy. From a purely human standpoint, TNA’s continued existence is worthwhile because it keeps a big group of people from the unemployment line.
