1. He Could Have Reformed Team Rhodes Scholars
In late 2012, Damien Sandow formed a tag team with his so-called best friend, Cody Rhodes. As "Team Rhodes Scholars," the tandem played foil to Daniel Bryan and Kane, but they were never able to capture the WWE Tag Team Titles.
It's possible there was mileage in a reunion. Not only had Sandow been woefully underused over the past several months but as Stardust, Rhodes is at an all-time low in terms of momentum. Rhodes seems to want to ditch the Stardust character, as much as he's been teasing it on Twitter, and the gimmick's continued existence does nobody any favors.
While turning Sandow heel would have killed the support he established with the WWE Universe, the betrayal could have possibly gotten him more over than he'd ever been. With the resurgence in WWE's Tag Team scene over the past year, a reunited Team Rhodes Scholars would fit into the division perfectly.
