One of the most enjoyable things about The Shield was how consistent they were in the ring. Being three fresh, young and hungry stars they gave the impression every week that they wanted to steal the show, to turn heads and put the roster on notice. As such, putting them in frequent six-man tag matches was always going to be the right move.

WWE’s in-ring product has improved dramatically over the last few years, and some of that must be down to The Shield. They put on some of the best multi-man matches in the history of the company, and as such every week the RAW and SmackDown viewer was guaranteed a great 10-15 minute TV match.

WWE TV misses these matches, not only for the quality but also for the consistency. The Shield were the WWE TV equivalent of a metronome, dependable to the last.
