8 Reasons WWE Will Regret Releasing Sasha Banks

6. The Ongoing Credibility Of The Women’s Revolution

While the Women’s Revolution has achieved a great deal, with women finally given a platform to resonate as top stars, as well as parity for WWE staples like the Royal Rumble or Money In The Bank, it does seem to have ground to a halt.

Just look at WrestleMania, where despite having two nights to play with most women are consigned to a multi-team tag match for belts that don’t matter. Another suggestion might be to look at the tournament for the vacated women’s tag titles. Except you can’t, because it’s disappeared without explanation.

For the way it has changed the perception of women’s wrestling, the Women’s Revolution is a fantastic achievement. That said, there is still so much more left to do because there’s equality.

WWE need to continue to build the women’s division so that there’s a credible roster underneath Sasha Banks, Bayley, Charlotte and Becky Lynch. Those four are all great top line stars that WWE can rightly point to as success stories but does the company really care beyond the PR exercise?

The Four Horsewomen are, as a rule, booked and presented better than any other women on the roster with the possible exception of Ronda Rousey. If even they don’t feel respected enough to stick around, what does that say about how the women’s Revolution is going?
