8 Reasons You Need To Start Watching TNA Again

4. Crash TV RIP

Crash TV is what Vince Russo’s chaotic style of booking was called in the WWF and WCW. It was packing each show in with as many things as possible, but it left the viewers unable to retain anything that happened. A lot of it didn't even make any sense. Crash TV featured way too many gimmick matches, too many swerves and too many heel/face changes.

Unfortunately, Russo took that style of booking to TNA, which prevented them from ever being taken seriously as competition to WWE. Thankfully, that era is over. Storylines have a more natural pace on Impact these days, and there aren’t ridiculous matches every week with gimmicks like: “object on a pole match”, Last Rites, 10,000 Thumbtacks, the Reverse Battle Royal, or Thanksgiving Thong Thunder Lingerie Match (yes, that was an actual match).

Of course, the company will still have occasional street fights and ladder matches, but they’ve cut down on the ridiculous gimmicks by a good 97%.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
