8 Released WWE Superstars Who Will (Ultimately) Be Better Off Elsewhere
5. Lio Rush
‘Lil Lio had some troubled times in WWE but his talent shone through. Rush may be young but has already proven himself a great all rounder. He was an exemplary hype man for Bobby Lashley and was MVP of the cruiserweights in NXT’s television era. Seriously, his encounters with Angel Garza were blistering.
Of course Cruiserweight prowess will only get you so far in Vince McMahon’s land of the giants. Yes, NXT has made stars of relatively short guys like Johnny Gargano but WWE has also given us Shorty G. As PAC would tell you, being king of the cruiserweights doesn’t count for much in WWE.
At only 26 Lio has bags of potential and years ahead of him, and would be better off somewhere where height isn’t such an issue. Plus he’ll be getting a fresh start, leaving behind whatever bad blood and backstage heat that still lingers.
