8 Stars WWE And TNA Made A Mistake In Not Pushing

2. 2 Cold Scorpio

An interesting character in wrestling history, Scorpio didn't have the abundant charisma that others on this list had. He didn't have the size, the strength, or many of the tools that made others seem like cant-miss prospects. What Scorpio had was something that was just a few years ahead of his time-- a daredevil, jaw-dropping style that left audiences in awe. Well over three years before high-risk cruiserweights burst onto the scene in WCW and ECW, Scorpio debuted in WCW, bringing his high flying style and amazing 450 splash in front of a crowd that wasn't accustomed of seeing such things. Instead of capitalizing on such a thing by pushing him up the card, Scorpio was instead placed primarily in tag teams, before leaving WCW altogether. But wait, there's more. In 1996, Scorpio emerged in the WWF, clad in ridiculous gear, shucking and jiving as the "Flash Funk" character, which eventually went nowhere, before returning to his Scorpio persona as a member of the JOB Squad. Needless to say, he wasn't main eventing any shows while in the WWF, either. The truth about Scorpio is that he may have been a victim of simply being ahead of his time, with promotions either unwilling to push him, or unsure how pushing such a wrestler would result. At 48-years old, Scorpio is still active on the indy scene, but unfortunately was never given his opportunity to shine in an era in which desperately needed some freshening up.
