8 Storylines That Will Revitalise WWE In The Second Half Of 2018

3. Daniel Bryan Vs. The Miz

One of Shane McMahon's last acts before taking a break from WWE was to bring The Miz over to SmackDown Live in the Superstar Shake-up. He declared that the reason behind making that call was Daniel Bryan, who had requested to be on the same show as the A-Lister. The two have had long-running differences since Bryan's return to WWE as general manager of SmackDown, including the former American Dragon criticising Miz's style and Miz stealing Bryan's patented flurry of kicks and running knee.

This storyline has continued to bubble beneath the surface of WWE since the aforementioned Superstar Shake-up. The two men have crossed paths on numerous occasions, but it's clear that WWE is saving the pay-off for a moment befitting the long term build and the intensity of the rivalry. The match itself may be saved for WrestleMania next year, but fans can expect the story to start moving very soon.

Bryan vs. Miz is a rivalry powered by fissures that have existed between the two men for a very long time. Miz is at the height of his powers and Bryan is in the euphoric after-glow of an unexpected return to action, so this is a story that could go down in history if WWE can play its cards right, and at the best possible time.
