8 Tag Teams That Deserve One More WWE Run
5. Carlito And Primo
When Primo debuted in WWE in the summer of 2008, the plan was never to pair him with Carlito. In fact, the two were placed on opposite brands, and Primo went so far as to say he was nothing like his brother. But it didn't take WWE long to scrap whatever singles push they had for Primo (assuming they had one), move him to SmackDown and have him and Carlito form a tag team.
In their second match as a tandem, they defeated Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder to capture the WWE Tag Team Championship. From there, they brought the tag team scene on SmackDown to new heights, and later ruled the divisions on both brands once they unified the WWE and World Tag Team titles at WrestleMania XXV.
Although they had a lengthy stint as tag champs, their reign came at a time tag team wrestling was far from hot and they didn't have much competition. In fact, as soon as they dropped the straps in the summer of 2009, they went their separate ways. They could have had a fun run as heels the following spring, but Carlito's abrupt release from the company prevented that from happening.
The Shining Stars are currently dying a death in WWE, but perhaps the return of the man who spits in the face of people who don't like to be cool can breathe new life into the fledgling career of his brother, Primo.
