8 Talents Who Left WWE For Greater Things

8. Lance Storm

The incredibly serious Lance Storm was a powerhouse in ECW and WCW, holding many championships in both promotions. In WCW he was the only man in the history of the promotion to hold three singles titles at once. He debuted in WWE as part of the ECW/WCW invasion angle and was actually the very first WCW face to appear on WWF TV. After the modest push as part of the angle and in WWE's tag-team division, Lance Storm spent the next few years in Raw's lower mid-card, failing to get over because of a distinct lack of gimmick - at one point he was even forced to dance to get over with fans. Storm's post-WWE career may have not had the glitz and glamour of other WWE alumni, but it's what he wished to do. After Storm's wrestling boots were mostly hung-up, he opened the Storm Wrestling Academy in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. His desire was to be a part of the business, though he felt his time in the limelight should come to an end and that he should dedicate his time into helping others break into the wrestling world. In addition, Storm has worked as a columnist for British wrestling magazine Fighting Spirit and is also often featured as a guest on the Figure Four Daily podcast on the Wrestling Observer web site. Lance Storm always claimed to have a genuine love for and addiction to the wrestling industry, it's great to see him still engaging it and giving back to the wrestling community while not putting his body or health on the line.
