The Rock is one of the most celebrated, acclaimed and praised wrestlers to ever step in a WWE ring. He's had seventeen separate championship reigns, including eight runs as WWF/E Champion and two runs with the World Heavyweight Championship. He also won the Royal Rumble in 2000 and remained a must-see talent in WWF/E programming for just short of a decade. Without stars like The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin, it's unlikely the WWF would have survived or thrived as it did through the attitude era. When Dwayne Johnson announced his initial retirement in 2002, many were skeptical about his dreams of having a career in Hollywood, but ultimately The Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment would prove he had talent outside of a wrestling ring. Admittedly, Dwayne didn't get off to the best start in acting, starring in mainly forgettable films like Walking Tall, Be Cool and Doom. However, In recent years Dwayne Johnson has been a major part of many decent blockbusters such as the later entries in the Fast And Furious franchise, as well as being one of Hollywood's most plausible action stars as evident in Brett Ratner's recent take on the Greek mythical hero Hercules. While you may not be the biggest fan of his films, ultimately there's no denying that The Rock made it in Hollywood and that he proved that there is room for ex-wrestlers in the acting world.
