8 Talents Who Left WWE For Greater Things

1. Batista

Batista is the wrestling equivalent of marmite - the audience seem to either love or hate him, yet, it's hard to deny his apparent popularity at least as far as WWE creative are concerned with the amount of push he's had over the years. Dave Bautista is a 6-time world champion, having held the WWE Championship twice and the World Heavyweight Championship 4 times. After an eight year run with WWE, he left the company in 2010 after claiming that he did not like the direction in which the company was going. Many thought he'd return sooner than we'd know it, but Batista has very recently found himself incredibly successful in the acting realm. It's no lie that Batista's recent second run WWE was pretty much a disaster, but that doesn't matter, at least not to Batista himself. He mainly returned to promote his most recent film, Marvel Studios' Guardians Of The Galaxy. Other than direct-to-DVD films, Batista starred in the Man With The Iron Fists and Riddick, which was seemingly enough to get him considered for the role of the dim brute Drax in Marvel's outlandish sci-fi adventure Guardians of the Galaxy. The film is currently the biggest grossing movie of 2014 and is set to have at least one sequel, with rumours of a part for Drax in Avengers 3. While his WWE career may be over, Batista certainly doesn't need it.
