8 Teams That Were Stupidly Split Up In WWE Drafts

1. The Dudley Boyz

Unlike most pairings on this list, The Dudley Boyz were an incredibly decorated duo and held tag team gold on countless occasions before being split up in the inaugural WWE Draft in 2002. Despite that, there was no zero reason for them to be used as single stars at that stage of their respective careers and breaking them up was a shortsighted decision.

The move only seemed designed to send the message that "anything can happen" in the WWE Draft and that not even a tag team of The Dudley Boyz' stature was safe. Needless to say, it was the wrong call and, unsurprisingly, neither of them amounted to much singles success on SmackDown or Raw.

It took longer than expected, but WWE inevitably bit the bullet and admitted defeat by reuniting The Dudley Boyz in grand fashion at Survivor Series 2002. They teamed together in WWE for another three years after that and eventually took their talents over to TNA Wrestling.

Bubb and D-Von did ultimately branch off on their own for a few years starting in 2010, but for WWE to force their split as prematurely as they did set a poor precedent for tag teams inexplicably being broken up in the Draft in the years that followed and still to this day.
