8 Things 2021 WWE Royal Rumble Lifted From 2020
6. Naomi Returns
Since WWE promoted Edge's second return ahead of time, fans eager;y anticipated seeing him start the 2021 men's Royal Rumble match. What they may not have expected, though, was that a second wrestler would make their second Rumble return earlier in the night during the women's bout.
After taking some time off to focus on her health, Naomi made her return during the 2020 women's battle royal, stunning fans and lasting 22 minutes until being eliminated by Shayna Baszler.
Naomi was sidelined by an injury later in the year, but like clockwork, she was ready to step back into the ring by the time the 2021 Royal Rumble came around. She lasted twice as long this time around, but she once again found herself eliminated by Shayna Baszler (albeit with some help from a friend in Nia Jax).
Naomi's second return was well-received by fans, and she stands a chance to further strengthen the women's division if given the opportunity. Hopefully, 2021 will be kinder to the former Funkadactyl, and she'll be able to make it to the next women's Royal Rumble without any hiccups.
